Fall Activities for Kids and Parents

As the leaves change colors and the air turns crisp (okay, I know, here in the South it will still be hot and not a lot of color changing), it's the perfect time to enjoy some fun fall activities with your kids. Here is our checklist of exciting ideas to make the most of this beautiful season:

1. Pumpkin Patch Adventure

Take a trip to a local pumpkin patch and let your kids pick out their own pumpkins. They will love exploring the patch, finding the perfect pumpkin, and maybe even going on a hayride or navigating a maze. And don't forget to grab the perfect smocked children's outfits from Fox & Pheasant Children's Boutique so your children will look cute and put together in all of the photos you'll be posting!

2. Apple Picking Fun

Visit an apple orchard and spend the day picking fresh apples with your little ones. Not only is it a fun activity, but you can also use the apples to bake a wonderful apple pie or turnovers.  We carry the perfect apple appliquéd outfits for boys and girls so they can match the theme!

3. Nature Scavenger Hunt

Create a list of fall-themed items for a nature scavenger hunt in your backyard or a nearby park. Your kids will have a blast searching for acorns, colorful leaves, spiderwebs, bugs and pinecones.

4.  Do Some Baking

Some of the best baking happens in the fall.  Make cookies in the shapes of turkeys, ghosts, spiders or pumpkins.  Let the frosting and sprinkles make the biggest mess and the best memories.  Bake pumpkin and pecan pies, pumpkin spice bread, or get a jump on Christmas treats!

5. DIY Fall Crafts

Gather some craft supplies and get creative with your kids by making fall-themed crafts like leaf rubbings, painting pumpkins, making hand turkeys, or paper plate scarecrows. It's a great way to spend a cozy afternoon indoors and spend some time bonding with your kids!! Looking for more ideas? Pinterest has a million!

6. Leaf Pile Jumping

One of our kids favorites! Rake up a big pile of leaves in your yard and let your kids jump and play in them. It's a classic fall activity that never gets old and is sure to bring lots of laughter. Best of all, it's free! Warning:  baths may be necessary.

7. Outdoor Movie Night

Here's a fun idea! Set up a backyard movie night with a fall-themed movie, like Hocus Pocus, soft, fluffy blankets, and popcorn. A burn pit would be a great addition as well.  What a fun way to enjoy the cool evening air and spend quality time together as a family!

8. Halloween Costumes

Get a head start on Halloween by brainstorming and creating costumes with your kids. Let them be creative and make their own.  It's a great way to build their confidence when they can create something and proudly wear it!

With these exciting fall activities, you can create lasting memories with your kids while enjoying the beauty of the season. Get outside, get creative, and have fun together!
